CDOT Statewide ARRA Initiative

In this State to State video segment the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) highlights its statewide outreach initiative designed to help construction contractors get a head start on job creation, through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

This town hall style meeting called "Project Spotlighting" was held March 27, 2009; the first of several regional events to bring prime contractors and subcontractors together with a primary focus on identifying opportunists for small and disadvantaged businesses or DBEs. This event held in Denver, gave contractors important information about upcoming ARRA projects their region. DBEs and other small emerging contractors were given the opportunity to network with prime contractors to establish potential partnerships. The ultimate goal was to create a climate of cooperation, expedite the bidding process and create jobs.
