Viewpoint: CDC Dir. on High Cost of Vehicle Crashes

Motor vehicle crashes are the number one cause of death of young people in America. A study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also determined that these preventable tragedies are costing the nation billions of dollars annually. In this segment of Viewpoint, CDC Director Dr. Thomas R. Frieden outlines why transportation is a major health issue and what each of us can do to become part of the solution. Dr. Friedan’s speech was delivered May 11, 2011 at the Decade of Action news conference in Washington D.C.
